What is the difference between Unit of Measure, Packaging and Packages in Odoo? The three terms look alike, but each plays its own role in sales, stock and delivery.
The three terms in short
- Unit of Measure (UoM): the unit a product is sold, stored or purchased in. Think pieces, kilos or litres.
- Packaging: a pack holding several identical products. You use it to sell multiple units of the same product at once, for example a box of twelve.
- Packages: a box in which one or more products of the same or different type are shipped. You use this only when delivering goods.
