Does Radical Fanatics build Odoo product configurators?
Yes. We build CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) and Configure-to-Order configurators for Odoo, and we ship them as a product: CPQ Builder. The customer clicks together a made-to-order product on your Odoo storefront - options, dimensions, compatibility rules, live price - and CPQ Builder writes it through the standard Odoo API as a native sale order, a per-variant bill of materials (BOM) and a manufacturing order. No custom module is installed in Odoo, so upgrades stay clean and there is no vendor lock-in.

Every step runs through Odoo’s native flow. The configurator is the layer on top; Odoo stays the system of record.
Configure
The customer opens your product page in Odoo and fills in the wizard: options or parameters, compatibility rules, live price and lead time. Two engines, option-picking for variant-rich products and parametric for dimensions, cut-to-size and formula pricing.
Add to cart
The wizard writes the configured line into Odoo’s native cart, on your own theme. Two cart items of the same product become two different variants with two correct bills of materials.
Confirm and manufacture
When the quote is confirmed, CPQ Builder writes the per-variant BOM with operations, work centres and subcontracting. Odoo MRP picks it up and creates the manufacturing order automatically.

Built for made-to-order manufacturing
CPQ Builder is at its best where every order is a little different and the configuration has to drive production, not just the webshop. We have run it for two-manual digital organs, made-to-measure cushions, cut-to-size cable, acoustic wall panels, window frames and blinds. If a customer configures a product and that choice has to become the right bill of materials and the right manufacturing order, this is the gap it closes.
Why not an external configurator?
External configurator platforms are powerful, but they sit beside Odoo and have to be integrated, and they are priced for it, often a couple of thousand euros a month plus a five-figure setup. CPQ Builder is Odoo-first: it speaks Odoo’s own API, writes native sale orders, bills of materials and manufacturing orders, and starts at 99 euro a month with no per-configuration fee. For a mid-sized manufacturer that wants its configurator to live inside Odoo rather than next to it, that is the whole difference. Which Odoo versions and editions does it support?
Odoo 18 and 19, on Odoo Online (Custom plan), Odoo.sh, or self-hosted Odoo Enterprise. The Custom plan is required because Odoo gates its external JSON-RPC API to it.

Those are strong standalone configurator platforms that integrate with Odoo from the outside, at a premium price.
